On May 23, the Alexa McDonough Institute will be hosting our annual Girls Conference! This year's conference is jam-packed with a variety of interactive workshop sessions targeted towards youth between the ages of 13 and 18 years old who self-identify as girls.
This year's theme is "Find Your Sparkle", and we aim to provide opportunities for youth to find both their voice and their power through learning experiences that promote confidence, creativity, and empowerment.
This year's keynote speaker is Lacey Koughan, the innovative owner of 24STRONG. Her entrepreneurial prowess has garnered recognition, earning her accolades such as the 2023 Rising Entrepreneur, Atlantic Canada's 30 Under 30 Innovators, Red Cross Young Humanitarian of the Year, and 1/5 finalists for the Canadian Young Entrepreneur of the Year.
Starting a business at a young age was a daunting prospect for Lacey, but she refused to let fear hold her back. With confidence, determination, and creativity as her guiding lights, she embarked on her entrepreneurial journey, defying expectations, and surpassing barriers.
